This week we had a lovely ‘thank you’ through from a family who had pretty much taken over the whole of Villa Vilina on the peaceful island of Lopud for a week (13 people altogether). They let us know they had enjoyed the freshly prepared food at the hotel’s restaurant, and whilst they freely admitted they totally vegged out and relaxed – they did charter a boat through our local Resort Manager. Theirs for a full day – where they told me they visited secret coves, enjoyed swimming in the sea (temperature – about 29) and had a fab picnic on board.
It was so lovely to get this feedback as it reminded us why people come to us – as an Independent specialist tour operator to Croatia we love to go the extra mile to make sure our customers get the best in Croatia holidays that they can. So whilst we will rarely be the cheapest, we do like to think we are right up there with the best.
We also got a couple of clients thanking us for the ‘extra’s they got because they were guests of Completely Croatia – in particular at Hotel Bozica with whom we work extremely closely. This is another place where you are treated like royalty – arriving from the mainland on a private speedboat. We do benefit from free upgrades whenever possible – and this place is particularly popular for honeymoons in Croatia.
One of the funniest things I read this week was a ‘re-tweet’ (whatever that is) ‘@LarryPimentel If we purchased a meal the way #travel is often sold, we would not need menus…simply order the least expensive item irrespective of taste.’ A wry smile went around the office at that one !
So as the season draws to a close and we struggle as ever with no availability for September, we are starting to look at 2014. We have a brand new cruise towards the North of Istria – Kvarner Island hopping If anyone fancies a taste of genuinely unspoilt Croatia, a little more ‘off the beaten track and hidden’, then this cruise will not disappoint. It visits some of the lesser known islands, one of which has about half a dozen tractors for the locals to use, as the only transport on it! We’d recommend a cruise and stay perhaps for 3 or 4 nights in Opatija or environs, afterwards. Opatija has a feel of a City break in Croatia, where you can enjoy a café style culture, but with the coastal walk, Lungo Mare, you are never far from a beach or the sea.
There is early signs of yet another popular year for holidays in Croatia, we are already more than 100% up year on year in terms of holiday bookings. Luxury holidays in Croatia seems to be more and more popular, I think the fact that people were let down by the likes of the Hotel Bellevue being fully booked for most of September this year has forced people to look at September next !
