The Boutique Hotel ‘Marco Polo’ is collecting well-deserved accolades as word spreads of this charming property. Sheltered beneath the slopes of the Biokovo Mountains, the village of Gradac is equidistant between Split and Dubrovnik, being approx 2 hours away from either by car. Peaceful, tranquil and comparatively undiscovered.
The hotel is owned and run by the Milisic family and their attentive staff. As there are only 25 rooms, of which 12 are Junior Suites all non smoking, this hotel books out rapidly and we recommend early booking to avoid disappointment
There is an aromatherapy massage room which we thoroughly recommend taking advantage of. As well as a new gym with a great range of equipment
There is lift access to all floors. Rooms are all furnished to an excellent standard and have all home comforts including WiFi and satellite TV. Ensuite bath and shower rooms with quality complimentary toiletries, . Most rooms have sea or side sea view, some have balcony.
We have specially negotiated some complimentary extras for honeymooners. These include Suite with balcony and side sea view, bottle of sparkling wine in room upon arrival, romantic relaxing bath in the jacuzzi – located in the new Pepo Polo wellness centre – with sparkling wine. Complimentary aperitif in the hotel’s excellent restaurant, Nicolo Polo, and use of the newly completed fitness studio – call us for further details.
The hotel has benefitted from a really tasteful and attentive refurbishment and is the perfect relaxing getaway, particularly for couples or honeymooners. As well as frequently winning the Best Boutique Hotel in Croatia award the hotel has also recently triumphed as the Best Small Hotel in Croatia, winner of the Adrian.
Recent improvements to the hotel include ‘Polo Pepo’ an outdoor pool( 8 x 3.5m) where you can relax away from it all. There is also a new fitness and gym Suite and a lovely sauna and jacuzzi area.
The Gourmet romantic candlelit restaurant, Nicolo Polo, serves both traditional fresh Croatian cuisine as well as international dishes. All prepared by the resident chef. The selection of wine on offer is also something not to be missed, stored for your selection on an entire wall of the restaurant.
Whether your preference is for red or white, there is certain to be something which appeals. It doesn’t surprise us that this restaurant is named as one of the top 100 restaurants in Croatia.

Completely Croatia customer reviews
One Word - Fabulous
one word - fabulous. The hotel itself is obviously new and extremely comfortable but that is dwarfed by the staff. Whilst the hotel is good, very good, the staff are without comparison. We were collected efficiently, welcomed like long lost relatives and made to feel the most important people in Gradac. One half of us does not want to let anyone else know about the hotel and keep it to ourselves and the other half wants to spread their worth far and wide. We would recommend this hotel and the staff without reservation.
May we also make especial mention of your good self please Alison. Having been generous about the hotel staff we would be delighted to express our gratitude for all your efforts to make this a memorable holiday which it certainly was - thank you.
