What does everyone think ? When you get a quote for a holiday, would you rather have a seat together and hold baggage included in the first quote you get, or would you prefer to have this added as an extra at the end. We only ask because in the good old days we always used to automatically include it in all our quotes, but then we got the message that it could make us look uncompetitive on price . Some potential clients not realising that other companies they went to would add this (not inconsiderable) extra amount afterwards once they agreed to take the holiday ? Its a question we would love to know the answer to !
For the moment we show this as an extra at the bottom of our quotes, but we’d love to know the ideal for our customers?
This week in Istria, Rovinj has joined Pula, Labin and Buzet in gaining status as a Child Friendly Town. This is awarded by 2 organisations and backed by UNICEF. It will see a new kindergarten being built in the town, as well as further action for disadvantaged children.
100% of Croatia Airlines remains up for sale as there have been no offers made for a 49% stake in the airline. The Croatian Transport Minister, Sinisa Hajdas, remains bullish and confident in tenders for Round 2. China, Indonesia and Turkey were allegedly interested in Round 1 but nothing was forthcoming.
This week we added the stunning Villa Stefanija in Barban, Istria to our hotel portfolio for Croatia holidays in 2014. A true boutique property with only 5 double and one triple rooms, family run with pride and care. The hotel has totally STUNNING views over the Kvarner Gulf. During your stay you may enjoy the finest wines to complement the gourmet dining experience. Whilst we think it is probably the ultimate in luxury Croatia boutique hotel style, it nonetheless is ideal for a fly drive holiday to explore this unspoilt region which nonetheless has the best maintained roads we’ve seen! If there is a larger party of guests, the whole hotel can be made available, and it even has a totally separate entrance for total privacy.
At the other end of Croatia in Dubrovnik if there is a larger party of – say 8 plus – needing privacy without compromise on quality, then we’d
recommend Villa Franiza. Its got everything, a good sized pool, a summer kitchen, barbecue, great views, and is tucked away down an unmade lane – no one would know it was there. And its only steps from the beach as well, want a chef, personal trainer, private yacht ? just ask….
