Helpful Information regarding Coronavirus and your Holiday with us
Your holiday options depending on Travel Advice
Your holiday will operate as planned. We will only cancel your holiday in the following instances;
- The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advises against non-essential travel to the country which you are travelling.
- If the government for the destination you’re travelling to decides to enforce quarantine on arrival and there isn’t the option to forgo this quarantine period by providing evidence of a negative COVID-19 test or being double vaccinated.
Should we need to cancel your holiday for the reasons above, we will offer the opportunity to:
- Move your holiday to a future date at no charge.
- Offer you a refund credit note that can be redeemed against a future holiday. Your refund credit note will be financially protected by either the ATOL or ABTOT regulator, depending on your individual booking.
- Obtain a full refund.
If you no longer wish to go on holiday but the FCDO are saying it is safe to go to your destination, you will have the following options:
- You can cancel your holiday and you will be subject to our normal Terms & Conditions
- We can move your holiday to a future date and again will be subject to our normal Terms & Conditions
Coronavirus testing and requirements to travel
Please see below guidance for you on what tests and documentation you may require when travelling to Croatia and returning home:
Entry to Croatia
To be allowed entry into Croatia, all travellers from the UK must present one of the following documents on arrival:
- proof of a vaccination, or;
- a negative COVID-19 antigen not older than 48 hours, or;
- a negative PCR test result not older than 72 hours, or;
- a doctor’s certificate of recovery from COVID-19. (See ‘Demonstrating your COVID-19 status’).
Additional documents for entry
- You will need to complete an online entry form before you travel to Croatia.
- You should carry a copy of your accommodation booking
Travelling back to the UK
From the 4th of October 2021, you only need to take a COVID-19 test before you travel to England if you either:
- Do not qualify as fully vaccinated for travel to England
- Have been in a country or territory on the red list in the 10 days before you will arrive in England
You do not have to take a COVID-19 test before you travel to England if you qualify as fully vaccinated and you have not been in a red list country.
If you are returning to England and are fully vaccinated before you arrive you must:
- book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test– to be taken after arrival in England
- complete a passenger locator form– to be completed in the 48 hours before you arrive in England
You will need to enter your COVID-19 test booking reference number on your passenger locator form.
When you arrive in England – fully vaccinated
After you arrive in England you must take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2. (You must book this test before you travel)
If you will be in England for less than 2 days you still need to book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test. You only need to take the test if you are still in England on day 2.
If you are not fully vaccinated the rules are different, please check here for info and scroll to ‘If you are not fully vaccinated’
Please note that an NHS PCR test cannot be used for travel purposes.
More information on testing before your return can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england.
Where to get your tests
One of our biggest priorities is to make testing as easy and affordable as possible for you. We also recommend you sign up for FCDO travel advice email alerts, so you can automatically receive the latest travel requirements and travel advice updates for the destinations you wish to hear about.
Testing Packages that are Government Approved
We’re doing everything we can to help you with testing, for both your journey to and from your holiday destination. We’ve provided you with some links below to some testing providers that are reliable and of great value. The information is provided below should you wish to use their services.
Please ensure that you verify with your chosen supplier that the test will satisfy the requirements for the destination you are travelling to (including return to the UK) and that the supplier can comply with the strict timescales you will have to adhere to. We cannot be held responsible for any third-party suppliers’ delay or otherwise failure to provide a suitable test result.
Lateral Flow/Antigen Tests
If you need a lateral flow test for the country that you are travelling to in addition to the one you will require to complete on your return to the UK, then we highly recommend using ‘Project Screen‘.
You can order these easy to use kits, they are both the same kit for leaving or returning to the UK.
Simply, order your tests, register your information on the website (instructions are provided), complete the test and after 15 minutes take a picture of the result to upload it to their website. You’ll then get a certificate emailed to you with your result.

Other helpful Q&A’s
What happens if the area where I live goes into lockdown or travel is restricted?
We will endeavour to amend your booking with minimum costs. However, this will be subject to the timescale before your departure, so please get in touch with us immediately to rearrange this.
Will you get me home if the UK goes into lockdown while I’m away?
Please be rest assured, we will never leave you stranded overseas. In most cases when a lockdown in the UK is announced, the government does not require customers on holiday at the time to return home immediately, so you can generally continue to enjoy your holiday and return on your planned flight home. If the government asks holidaymakers to return to the UK immediately, we will be in touch with you to help you get home.
What happens if I need to quarantine on arrival at my destination?
If we know a destination or hotel is asking people to quarantine when they arrive in the country – and there isn’t the option to forgo this quarantine period by providing evidence of a negative COVID-19 test – we won’t operate, and you’ll be entitled to either a free holiday change or a full refund.
What happens if I'm ill with COVID-19 or have been officially asked to self-isolate and can't travel?
If you are not able to travel due to contracting COVID-19 or you are officially required to self-isolate at the time of your departure, we will endeavour to amend your booking with minimum costs. However, this will be subject to the timescale before your departure, so please get in touch with us immediately to rearrange this.
Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance that covers you in the event of cancellation before your holiday and illness while on holiday.
If I’m contacted by the NHS Test and Trace system and told to self-isolate over my holiday dates, what does this mean for my holiday?
We can look to see if we are able to change the date of your holiday, but if not and you can’t travel, cancellation charges will apply. Please check if the charges will be recoverable under your travel insurance policy.
What if I need medical advice or I believe that I have Coronavirus Symptoms when on holiday?
You should check the advice given on the FCDO website under the section Healthcare, which provide you with the information and contact information for which you require. This can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
Many companies are now offering cancellation Covid cover with their insurances for single or multi trip policies. However, most will only cover you if the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) say it’s safe to travel to your destination.
Your travel insurance can only cover you for specific scenarios for the coronavirus pandemic. Many policies protect you before you even set foot on the plane for the following scenarios:
- If you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days before departure
- Cover for vaccine intolerance
- You are told to self-isolate by Test & Trace
- You are denied boarding at the airport.
Many policies cover you for emergency medical expenses, repatriation and cutting your trip short, so you can travel with peace of mind.
For some providers, there are no upper age limits whenever you choose a single trip or annual policy.
You must ensure that you choose the best insurance to suit your needs.
