Rovinj

Rovinj, the top holiday spot in Istria, is a true gem: a delightful Italianate town surveying the Adriatic. Its narrow, cobbled streets lead up to its crowning point, St Euphemia Cathedral, with its beautiful façade and one of the tallest church towers in Istria (61 m high). It’s a great viewing point for panoramic vistas of the town, its picturesque harbour and the surrounding wooded coastline, dotted with tiny islands.

Rovinj is well known for its art galleries and studios. The Roman centre and the Basilica of Euphrasius with its colourful mosaics are not to be missed. The area is also home to Croatia's first ever Michelin star restaurant "Monte".

Rovinj itself was originally an island, but 250 years ago the narrow channel, which separated it from the mainland, was filled, joining the island to the mainland. Whether you choose to stay in the old town of Rovinj or on the surrounding coast, this area is a great choice for a holiday. Rovinj offers a real holiday atmosphere with small cafes and bars, trendy artisan shops and a good choice of boutique hotels.
