This charming stone built, Venetian style town house predates the 1667 earthquake, and is one of the oldest buildings located within the City walls of Dubrovnik Old Town. It has been in the same family for over 100 years and it feels like a real home from home.
Entering from the narrow stone-flagged street, there is a cosy living and dining area, a galley kitchen and small shower room. Stairs lead up to the two twin bedded bedrooms, (each on its own floor.) The house is air conditioned (with the exception of the first floor). There is satellite TV, a radio cassette player, hair dryer
The kitchen has a full oven, fridge and coffee maker. There is a washing machine and iron with board.
We must point out that the open stairways are steep and unsuitable for those with walking difficulties. The bedroom on the first floor has a low ceiling which would preclude those over 6 feet staying there in comfort!
Step outside the house and you will find no shortage of restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes, whilst the best place to shop for self-catering essentials is the colourful morning market on Gundulic Square less than a five-minute stroll away, where juicy aubergines, tomatoes, peppers and figs are brought to market from outlying gardens.
As the Old Town is a car-free zone, Karmen or a member of her family and a porter will liaise with your private transfer driver, and meet you at the town walls tp lead you through the warren of streets and steps to her house. Don't worry if you can’t remember the exact route you took - the fun of staying in this part of town is in losing yourself !
