Fancy your own Croatian Island?

Daksa Island is for sale at a really reduced price, down from 6 million only 2 million euros.!!  5 hectares of land, the island is said to be haunted.  To the right person, it could become a real haunt…. Ideal to moor the yacht off, as its not expected to be very easy to get planning permission.  Given its location close to the harbour at Gruz, its expected the Dubrovnik area will get first refusal, but if they don’t have the funds, then it could be sold to a foreigner.  If you like sailing holidays in Croatia, its the ideal spot.

Sea View from Restaurant at Hotel More

The weather has been peculiarly and unusually  inclement in Croatia recently.  One of our contacts at Villa Moretti  in Trogir was saying that after 4 days of rain (yes – really, just 4 days !) they were all very bored with it……  However, the good news is that it’s expected to improve next week; that’s me being selfish as I am off to Dubrovnik, I’m really happy to hear this….  I’m combining  hotel and accommodation research with catching up with some old friends and contacts at the annual Travel Conventions which is being held in Dubrovnik  next week.  Lucky me – I am staying at Hotel More   shame I really will be working and not enjoying the luxurious spa and restaurant.   Then one night at Hotel Bozica for dinner with the owners – I am really looking forward to catching up with the family who run  and own this hotel, who we count as our friends now…… Bozica pool terrace

Whilst I am there, I will be looking at some new top quality stuff, from self catering apartments to some stunning top notch villas just outside the old town of Dubrovnik….  On paper they look amazing – I cannot wait to see if they’re as good in real life.  After all, we pride ourselves on finding the very best Croatia Holidays.

Before I go over to Croatia, we are collating all the customer votes for our Hotels of the Year, more of which next time.  But no big surprises for us as we know personally, the hotels which extend the warmest welcomes and who go the extra mile for guests.    One result is out already. Check out this hotel – new to us for 2013,  the Hotel Saudade,  is already getting a real following  amongst our clients, it’s the ideal retreat for a week’s complete tranquillity or ideal as part of a two centre holiday to Croatia as well.

Beach at Gradac

Sport this week has seen the Croatian National Football Coach, Igor Stimac, tender his resignation following their 2 Nil defeat against Scotland.

And finally the Mayor of Pescara is seeking to restore the ferry link between this Italian town and the town of Split, which would provide for some fantastic links between the two countries.  We would be over the moon to see this….
