DAY 1 Saturday
Transfer from Split airport or harbour to Hotel.
Welcome dinner & overnight in Split
DAY 2 Sunday Dubrovnik
After breakfast in Split depart for Dubrovnik. Enjoy some fabulous views along the coastal road. Upon arrival early the afternoon, take the city tour of Dubrovnik, A UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. Visit the Cathedral and Franciscan Monastery with one of Europe’s oldest pharmacies.
Return to hotel for dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.
*DAY 3 Monday Dubrovnik – Mostar -Sarajevo *
Following breakfast,depart to Mostar, city of bridges, now famously reconstructed by the locals following its obliteration during the Serbian war . Following a tour of historic Mostar city drive onward to Sarajevo, Capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Sarajevo is probably best known to the British as the place where we won gold at the winter Olympics, however, it is also one of the most historically interesting cities in Europe. Enjoy a. tour of the fascinating City of Sarajevo before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 4 Tuesday Sarajevo – Osijek
After breakfast, depart for Osijek, the largest city in eastern Croatia, beautifully located on the banks of Drava river. Osijek is a popular destination being Baroque in style with plenty of open spaces lots going on. The City tour of Osijek includes the Cathedral and the Tvrdja (Old Fort). Following this tour, arrive at the hotel for dinner and overnight in Osijek.
DAY 5 Wednesday Osijek – Zagreb
Morning departure to Djakovo. On approaching the City, you can’t help but observe the brightness of the bricks of the two towers and cupolas which form one of the most beautiful cathedral in the area.
Take a tour of the Cathedral after which the group will depart for Zagreb.
Upon arrival take a tour of Zagreb, Croatia’s Capital. This will include the fortified Upper Town, the City’s historical centre, St Mark’s church with its multi-coloured roof, the Cathedral, the Croatian National Theatre and University.
You will then transfer to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 6 Thursday Zagreb – Plitvice – Zadar
After breakfast depart for Plitvice National Park, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Enjoy a spectacular tour of the 16 crystal – blue lakes cascading into 92 breathtaking waterfalls.
Take a walk on the wooden promenades to view the waters where every turn leads to more fantastic scenery and yet another waterfall.
Surrounded by dense woods Plitvice lakes are undoubtedly a natural oasis of rare and unique beauty. After the tour and walk around the area, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight in Zadar.
DAY 7 Friday Zadar – Split
After breakfast, take a tour of Zadar to include the 2nd C Roman Forum, the 9th century pre-Romanesque church of St.Donatus as well as St. Elias church.
Late morning/early afternoon, depart for Split. Upon arrival here, there is a tour of Split, which includes the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site listed Diocletian’s Palace, the Peristyle, Jupiter’s Temple and the Cathedral.
Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight in Split area.
DAY 8 Saturday Split – departure
Following breakfast, transfer to either Split airport for return home, or to the harbour if taking onwards travel to one of the islands.
