Kvarner Rivieria
Located next to the Istria region of Croatia, the Kvarner Riviera has long enjoyed a great reputation for tourism.
Opatija is one of the most popular resorts in Croatia and is the most well known on the Kvarner Riveiera it also has the longest tourist tradition on the eastern Adriatic.
Opatija is in a sheltered spot on the Kvarner Gulf. In Victorian times the area was the preserve of high society holidaymakers.
Now it’s available to us all to enjoy, however the legacy of the glorious building redolent of the era remain for us to admire. Many of these buildings have undergone complete refurbishment and now offer luxurious hotel accommodation without compromising the individual character of the building.
Known as the ‘Nice of the Adriatic’ with good reason, yachts berth in the many marinas providing great opportunities for people watching in the many harbourside cafes and restaurants.
The water here is particularly clear and is great for swimming.
Plenty of small islands invite discovery and there are lost of opportunities for watersports and snorkelling. Most hotels front onto pretty promenades and all have wonderful sea views
